Shortly after Crossfire, J P found himself longing for another front man position. He turned to the Hartford Advocate, a local weekly featuring clubs, band and other entertainment information. J P started auditioning for bands and found himself having a choice of many gigs. None of them was anything he wanted until he arrived for an audition at a rehearsal studio in Meriden Connecticut. The guy J P contacted was Nikki Pinto. Nikki said they had just fired their singer and was looking for someone to fill the spot. As J P entered the rehearsal spot, Nikki recognized him from Crossfire. Nikki had seen J P perform at New Haven Coliseum when Crossfire played with Jimmy Bells band Joined Forces. Come to find out Jimmy was a mutual friend of Nikki and J P. Nikki instantly offered the position to J P. Tom the drummer and Steve the guitar player both wanted to hear J P sing first, but Nikki assured them that he was a capable singer. They gave J P a list of covers and sent him on his way. Four days later KAOS rehearsed for the first time and everything clicked.

Angie , KAOS's manager had made arrangements for shows at some of the same venues  played by Crossfire. Crossfire had a good relationship with these clubs so Angie was able to bypass the "jam nights" and book top slots. All players in KAOS excelled at their craft. Tom was a powerhouse drummer and Steve was an amazing guitar player. Nikki played the bass like he was on a mission. This was exactly what J P was looking for and he fit right in. It wasn't long before KAOS was the "band to book" in all the hot clubs.

KAOS had some originals written before J P entered the band, but the melody lines needed improving. J P took control of that and assisted in further writings that they did.  KAOS had 25 originals in their arsenal, and many sophisticated covers to match them. They quickly had a reputation of having a "Kickass" show, so it became their slogan. RAD (Rock Against Drugs) had petitioned KAOS to do a summer show for them at Hubbell Park in Nikki's home town of Meriden. The Record Journal and McDonalds stepped in to sponsor the event as well. The show was a great success and got rave reviews in all the local papers. KAOS continued to do PCA's for RAD occasionally throughout the year for radio and television spots. Their zenith had to be when RAD put together a huge show that included local talent like KAOS, with rock acts like Tom Petty, Joan Jet, and Foghat. It was a great privilege to share the same stage, let alone a crowd of more than 50,000 people at Bushnell Park in Hartford. It was all for a great cause too.

KAOS disbanded about 4 years after J P  joined. due to member disputes. Everyone just mutually agreed to part ways, and they all where  great friends. So go ahead and listen to some of KAOS's music. I'm sure you will agree that they........
